Dancing on the beach

The sand is warm, the sea is calm
and the palm trees only twitter,
Dinner’s finished, the sky is dark
and the stars come out and shimmer

The stage is set, the people come
and the crowds around assemble,
The lights come on, the band starts up
and the air around does tremble.

The beat is loud, hands rise up
and my hips begin to sway.
I jump and twist and have such fun
I hope it never goes away.

The time is late and eyes are drooping
but my dancing getting bolder
All at once I am up on high
and asleep on Dampa’s shoulder.
