The Blue Fairy and the Three Princesses – a classic fairy tale – full of adventure.

The Blue Fairy and the Three Princesses

A children’s illustrated fantasy story told in rhyme.

The Blue Fairy and the Three Princesses

” This is a story that must be told, during long winter nights when the wind blows cold of fairies and elves and knights so bold, who live in a place that is ever so old.”

The Blue Fairy and the Three Princesses must try to lift the witch's curse.

The essence of the story

A wicked witch places a curse over the land. The three princesses have to look for the blue fairy, who is the only person who can lift the evil spell. Aided by the friendly dragon rider, a wizard, and an elf king, they have to find the blue fairy’s three sisters. They then battle the smelly goblins, before they can rescue her from the clutches of the ugly trolls. The question is, will they find her in time?

Why was the story created?

The Blue Fairy and the Three Princesses was created as a bedtime story with the assistance of my three granddaughters. The fun was trying to make it rhyme without using words that did not fit the story. Another, exciting element, was trying to base each of the principal characters around a family member. Of course, this excluded the witch, the goblins and the trolls. This meant that there was as much fun in the creation of the story as in the story itself.

The final challenge was to find an illustrator who would not only capture the essence of the The Blue Fairy story, but also reproduce its characters in a modern, vibrant style. The work of Maddie Egremont was the perfect match.

The Blue Fairy and the Three Princesses is a fairy story designed not only for young children who can imagine themselves taking part in the quest, but also those who may be a little older, but still young at heart.
